“Reminded” is a video projection that speaks of a continuous moment that is frozen in time. It is a dialogue of how memories can flood back when time stands still, and how we are sometimes only repeating what we already know. This piece was inspired by sitting in a small park in Rome and watching a flock of birds flying continuously in the same direction for few minutes. It somehow reminded me of what home meant to me as a child and specifically reminded me of the war, the Iraqi war on Kuwait, which I witnessed at a very young age.  The birds appeared and disappeared, sometimes representing aircrafts, while other times they were just birds. The silent projection is designed to be placed in a dark corner of a room and is to be treated as a still image on the wall which will continuously loop.
