Please Forgive Those Who Cannot See My Face, 2011

A public intervention, Rome.

An intervention project that reflects on the experience of rejection in a foreign land as the events of Arab Spring unfolded. Notes were secretly left across public phone-booths in Rome that said “Please forgive those who cannot see my face”. These notes were photographed and a second visit was paid to each one of the 9 locations around the city. Printed black and white photographs of the notes were placed again in case the note was missing. The note and documentation of it were secret prayers waiting to be read.
